Bishop Hoplyn Parker

Bishop Hoplyn Parker is currently married and has seven children and one brother. He was born in the Turks and Caicos Islands to his parents William Parker and Tabatha Parker. He grew up in the community of Blue Hills. When he was old enough to work for a living, he was unable to find work because things were hard at the time. He moved to the Bahamas where he became gainfully employed. It was in Spring City, Abaco, in 1962 where he developed a relationship with God.

He returned to his homeland in 1974 and began working with Bishop James Williams and Brother Eric Parker in the Church of God of Prophecy in Blue Hills. On January 1, 1985 He was ordained as a minister in the church. Later he became a pastor and served for one year and two months at the Blue Hills church. He served as District Overseer for the church in Five Cays and the church in the Bight. Later, he served as Assistant Administrator to the National Overseer and as the National Director for Men’s Ministry. Bishop Parker was appointed as the Senior Pastor for the Bight Community on April 20, 2003. He led in the initiative to construct the church building there. On January 31, 2006, he was ordained as Bishop. He has served his God and his congregation faithfully. Bishop Hoplyn Parker decided to resign from his pastoral duties after his wife and mother became ill, and he needed to spend more time at home caring for them.  His relationship with God and his fellowship with the church remains intact. Now as he reminisces over his pastoral life he ends by saying “God is Good.”
